TCL Huaxing is expected to announce the 8.6-generation OLED production line plan this year

On April 29, the Korean media "Chosun Ilbo" quoted industry sources as saying that TCL Huaxing Optoelectronics is expected to announce plans to invest in the construction of 8.6 generation OLED production lines within the year.
Previously, Samsung Display and BOE announced the start of their 8.6-generation OLED production line project in March this year; South Korean media ZDNet Korea in February expected LG Display will also announce 8.6 generation OLED production line plans in the second half of the year.
The 8.6 generation OLED production line uses a glass substrate with a size of no less than 2250x2600mm, which is optimized for medium-size OLED panels for IT such as notebooks and tablets compared to the existing 5 and 6 generation production lines, which can improve production efficiency.
Korean media said that compared with small OLED panels for smartphones, Chinese display companies are currently not so prominent in the field of OLED panels for IT.
With the increased investment of BOE and Huaxing Optoelectronics, Chinese companies are expected to replicate the previous model in the LCD and small OLED markets, promote price competition through volume and scale, and catch up in the medium-size OLED field.
In addition to the possible 8.6-generation line, Huaxing Optoelectronics is also currently building a 5.5-generation printed OLED production line in Wuhan. According to an earlier report by IT House, the production line is also first for the medium-sized market, and related products are expected to achieve mass production within the year.
